Otago coach Malcolm Fleming is calling for total concentration from his team when it faces Waikato at 1pm on Carisbrook on Sunday.
Recently named NZFC Coach of the Month, Fleming quipped ‘ I would have preferred the award next month – after getting into the Play-Offs.
We all need to focus only on Sunday if we are to continue this season’s progress.’

There was no shortage of drama as two red
cards were issued in Napier when Hawkes Bay beat Otago United 2-1 on Sunday.
The National Football Championship Match was evenly balanced until referee Anthony Riley sent off Otago’s James Reichwein and Bays centreback Jonathan Taylor in the 28th minute for some push and shove after a disputed tackle by Reichwein.

A not so thin blue line defied Auckland City at
Carisbrook and Otago United posted warning that it will not be easy pickings this season as new coach Malcolm Fleming engineered a non-scoring draw with the NZFC champion.
Auckland played smooth stylish football, showing ball technique that impressed purists, but Otago reminded spectators that hard work and tough tackling are worth a point or two.

Otago United has announced that for the 2009/10 National Football Championship the clubs senior coach will be Malcolm Fleming.
Fleming said,' In some ways it will be a minefield, but I am up for the challenge, and so are many local players.'
' I was down at Cavvy training last night and was really heartened at the enthusiasm shown by that squad - all keen to get involved and start training for that first game on 1st November against the Auks.'
