Roslyn-Wakari
kept its place at the top of the Soccersouth Premier League with a 1-1
draw against Spirit FC in Invercargill, but big scores by Dunedin Technical
and Caversham have cut Roslyn’s lead to one point.
At Sunnyvale, Technical hit intimidating form, to demolish a brave Green
Island side 6-nil. Playing with style, pace and precision, coach Mike
Fridge’s team attacked on a broad front with five

Aaron Blaker punched the air in triumph when he hit a 93rd minute
winner for Caversham to beat Dunedin Technical 1-nil, in the Soccersouth
Premier League match played at Culling park on Saturday.
It was a match of gladiatorial proportions on the cramped pitch at
Culling, and it was a credit to referee Allan Martin that he allowed
just the right amount of ‘crunch,’ without having to hand
out a swag of yellow or red cards. more

Terry Boylan rescued
Roslyn-Wakari when he scored the only goal of the match to beat Otago’s
Youth Development squad 1-nil at the Caledonian ground on Saturday.
More than a few Spothern Premier League coaches gnawed finger nails
in frustration as the gale force wind threatened upsets, but as a
player-coach, Boylan radiated calm in central midfield.

University showed its playing
depth with a crushing 4-nil win over Grants Braes, in the Soccersouth
Premier League match played yesterday at the Caledonian ground.
Team manager Ian Sargeant praised the effort by his reshuffled team
which had several regular players missing due to the University holidays.
